    fiber glass f***in hood

Just got a new 4in rise hood, and install went well. Except the fuckin hood will not latch!!!! I would rather not install hood pins. Every thing lines up really good but it will not lock into the latch. I filled down the catch on top of said fucking hood a small amount. The latch and catch are touching, but it just wont lock. It's almost like the hood is not heavy enough to fuckin do its god dam job........... Any ideas would be nice.
    Thanks, Mike D.

You can adjust the latch up. There are two bolts on the front that are accessible through 2 holes in the bumper cover. Loosen these and adjust the factory latch up, over or up and over to where it will latch.

either pin it or zeus fasten it, that fucker will find a way to catch air and take out the hood and cowl. maybe proper adjustment of the latch will fix it i dont know i just know of several people that have had aftermarket hoods come up while driving. i am sure one of the body guys can say for sure.

my hood came up on my 66 and it's metal. the latch failed, but the safety latches caught. now? hood pins. I suggest pinning it anyways. heard many horror stories about losing fiberglass hoods.

I don't trust hood latches on fiberglass hoods either. I don't care how many people tell me it's secure when done right, etc. At 60+mph, it's just too spooky to me to rely on a latch on a glass hood.

Pinning them just seems safer to me.

and possibly steel reinforced around the latch? I've rarely seen aftermarket advertise steel reinforced, but have seen it.
