wrx trans parts?

all I need are syncros bearings and 1st 4th and 5th gears... I dont really need the gears but I know the syncros are gone I would rather just stick new gears in and be done.... the replacement gears alone are over 1200 for the updated parts. I didnt ask about sncs I was pissed about the gears....

oh... and to top it off its like 400 for a cheap after market clutch flywheel set from a decent company... fucking oe clutch is 900 fuckin dollars.... fuck...

clutch is shot... slips bad shakes and chatters... im sure the flywheel is torched. im not going to resurface the flywheel... whiles its off, I would rather replace it with a molly light weight....

the trans still shifts fairly good... but it clicks in and out of 1st 4th and 5th... and sometimes grinds... in 4th and 5th... once again I would rather fix it completely while its out...

a little... from what I understand, that really doesnt happen with the 02 cars... its not like im putting a 12lber on it, anyhow, I was looking at the 15lbs. have you heard different?

There is a complete 04/05 trans on NASIOC and MNSubaru up for sale ... I talked him down to 1k for it but I can't spend the money on that. 04+ saw thicker gears fyi ...

Oh and as for that CEL that shows with the lightweight flywheel ... its only a misfire so that is nothing to worry about

I have not tryed to drive one... I was thinkin about putting 4.10s in it and thought the flywheel would be a nice upgrade... as well as a sti turbo...

stock they are 21lbs I believe....

Find a cheap 16g that shit can be rebuildable ... VF39/43 can not.

right now I dont know what im doing I havent driven the car in 2 months... I am just planing and researching... I just want to make sure I only have this thing apart once... if I had the 4k I would do the sti drive conversion... 4.10 gears and 6 speeds better brakes....

why not it has been a great car for the last 100k... maintenance costs a ton but as long as you keep up its a great car...

in honesty I dont even need a trans... I could put a clutch in it and drive away... but I know my syncros are going and I want the car to last another 100k
