alright thing is running, seems to be running great, seems slow to rev up. but i havent ran it that much. at the same time it did back fire on me too only twice when i gave it gas idk if thats from bad plugs or not yet or one of the codes that the computer is showing. anyways question is how can i tell if i didnt get the timeing chain right on the 4.6. would it be noticable if i did or what. any help would be great, also i did hear a clunck from it one time no idea if it was anything or not. so if the valve did hit the piston it would more then likely be doin it the whole time right. sorry know this is not formatted the best dont but just looking for answers from people before its to late and something big happens.

not necessarily, if you floated a valve, that wouldn't be the case... I remember taking off the heads on a 2v 4.6 to do a PI swap once and finding out a valve had hit a piston once... the owner had ran it until the day before we tore into it, not even knowing he'd done that.Originally posted by jp67stang View Postso if the valve did hit the piston it would more then likely be doin it the whole time right.
For the slow to rev up stuff, check for vacuum leaks. Not sure what the clunk would be or how you'd be able to tell whether the timing is right or not though, I was too many beers into the pi swap at that point to remember the timing chain part

i c thanks ill look for some vac leaks and ya idk when i first start it and try to hit the gas it dies. then if i let it warm up i can rev it up and it only back fired 2 times when i was running it removed spark plugs and got new ones few looked a little heated up at one point so it could just be from that ill see tomorrowOriginally posted by Fosters View Postnot necessarily, if you floated a valve, that wouldn't be the case... when ever i do a motor swap of sorts like a used engine (i think thats what u put in?) i always do little things to prevent hick-ups, like plugs wires, t stat, hoses, shit liek that

p0118 and po125 it has to do with temp sensors its becase i have yet to tap the otherside for the temp sensor think that might be what it is. because on of the codes had to do with close loop fuel had to do with temp sensorOriginally posted by Slow35th View PostWhat did the codes say?

depends its little rich smelling when i plug in the connector but thats because its telling the car its cold so it puts it on the warm up cycle. then it seems fine when i disconnect it but the fan is on all the time im thinkin i just have to drill and tap this hole it may be what all my problems are from .Originally posted by Slow35th View PostHow do the plugs look.
