    Round 3 with the f350

OK, yet another problem. hoping to be small.

Driving down the road and lost fuel pressure, once again its an 88 f350 351w. I had spark. but no fuel in the rails. couple minutes later it started back up, moved 10 feet and died again, i have not tinkered with anything electrical wise lately or notice any hesitation in acceleration.

So first i figured it was a simple fuel pump failure. I took it off and sent power to it, and it worked fine. My next step was my buddys idea. I put power from the battery to the fuel pump to keep it running, and as i cranked it over nothing happened. plugs are giving me spark, fuel rails are full, and the plugs are dry. We read the power to the injectors at 3 volts. I really don't think the injectors are clogged, i would expect the engine to atleast want to kick over. My next step is to try a new ignition control mod. unless someone on here is the wiser? help well appreciated. C4C is not getting this one.

Why in the world would you throw a module at it if the plugs are dry. If you have full pressure at the rail and fuel isnt making it to the cylinder I would say the problem lies in between the two. I am not saying all the injectors are bad. Most likely none of them are. But it makes as much sense to replace them as it does to replace the damn module. Think deeper. What runs the injectors? Possible that they are not being powered on? get where I am going with this? You might as well do a god damn compression check.

I see what your saying. When i asked around a bit i was told that the ignition control mod. takes part in the injectors. I don't have the best idea of what does control the injectors, which is pretty much what im looking for.

I dont know maybe it does. But check to see if they are getting power to them when you are cranking it over. Problem solved.

Thats where the 3 volts came in to play, while i was cranking it. i just don't understand how every single plug is dry. From what i thought injectors don't all give out at once. Really makes no sense to me.

On some vehicles if one injector is bad that whole bank won't fire. I know some of the GM's are that way. Keep in mind that the truck is bank fire, meaning all the injectors on one bank fire at the same whether that cylinder needs fuel or not. I have a customer that called me with the exact same symptoms on the exact same model truck. He tried a different PCM and that did not fix it. I think it's on the ground side wiring myself, but I won't be able to get down there until next week to help him look at it. If you find anything let us know. If I can get down there sooner and I find anything I will let you know. This is on a large tree farm so they don't need the truck. It will sit until he gets it figured out. Nick
