Recommend me a battery

I'm looking to buy a new battery. I have my own opinion right now, but wondering what you would put in your cars. $ is an option, but I want something long term that will start all the time and will be a decent long life battery.

Gimme your opinions. Say $75 and less.

Sweet, how'd she do on the road course? Thats something I would really like to try, seems like a blast.

Optima's are pretty small, it should work in a fox. A bit more than ya want to spend, but they are awesome batteries.

If you are looking for a battery optima is the way to go, it has extremly high cold cranking amps (good for winter) and since they are gel cell you can mount them any way you want and not worry about leakage, the red tops go for about $130 and the yellow tops go for like $180 i think, but you can get a red top really cheap ($109)from Discount/Advanced Auto Parts. They were real big in florida like 1 every 2 miles, but are going to start openning up stores here in the twin cities. i found a discount store in new ulm and there are supposed to be like 4 other stores scattered around. hope this helps.

I would go with the optomia if I could. If you dont have the money for one go with interstate. I would stay away from exide. I have had nothing but bad luck with them.

ummm... i personally am not a fan of optima... ppl say they are better, but you cant really compair them to tother batteries cause they are a gel cell not water and plate baised, and they are made by exide :idiot: ........For my money i'd be hard pressed to find a better battery then an interstate...... thats what they use in the interceptors and what i have in my cars

I had a red-top optima, and after 1 winter sitting in the garage it was dead, and would not take a charge either.

Optima=Junk in my experience.

I'm hoping to get a replacement dirt cheap. Basically the car(s) I would put this battery into would be summer drivers only, and I don't see a huge load on the battery/alternator at this time. More or less, I wanted opinions on what to consider.

I have always had good luck with interstates, my die hard want too bad either
