    brakes

    doing pads on mustang, the rears.

    can't get the piston to go back... it turns but thats it, got a clamp also and tried to tighten it but wont. and suggestion?

    They should twist in if you get the tool for it. some stores sell a universal cube style tool that works alright if youre patient.

        since its just a mustang- get a c-clamp and a big channel locks.

        compress and screw at the same time

          i HAD TO GET THE CUBE AND YOU HAVE TO TURN THEM IN VERY HARD. IT TOOK TEO PEOPLE TO TURN MINE IN ON MY CAR.

              I think I bolted them back on so I could get some leverage. Could be wrong.

                          If the caliper is in good condition the piston should move quite easily. Of course you can just put pads on and drive the car with a brake piston on the verge of being frozen into the caliper. If you have the money and care about the car, or if you drive the car hard and rely on the brakes to function well - you should really either rebuild or replace the caliper.

                          If you regard it as a beater and want to get away as cheaply as possible, you're there. Been there, done that.

                          Edit: another (inexpensive) option is to at least bleed the brakes and try to slow down the internal corrosion.
