I have a friend with a '95 Mustang with a 5.0. He had heard you could swap the TBI with one from a Lincoln to have the same TBI as a Cobra. Does anyone know anything about this?

Not even worth it unless you have engine mods and then you should upgrde to a 70mm if it is naturally aspirated and then 75mm if it is boosted.2005 Z51 Corvette - 587rwhp / 566rwtq - ECS Novi Supercharger - Stinger Cam - American Racing Headers - B&B Exhaust - Z06 Brakes, Wheels and Wide Body Kit - RPM Level V Transmission and Differential - 3.90 Gears

I'll second that! I had a 70mm on my 95 when N/A, and in order to run Pure Stock in NHRA you can't have an aftermarket TB. Long story short I made back to back runs with the stock TB and the 70mm BBK and went slightly faster with the stocker....leave it until it's boosted or it has HCI or it's more than 302 cubic inches."I'm getting really tired of the turbo whistle"

Ok here's what there saying, that piece of shit TB isn't going to do shit. Even if the car had decent heads (not lincoln) and a decent cam (not a lincoln) it still would not do a whole damn lot. There a number of other things you can do cheaply, but this throttle body you found that might actually bolt up isn't it.Last edited by 86dcbra; 08-10-2009, 01:53 PM.86 Sold

That's what I told my friend, but he wanted clarification. I told him he would need to get a new cam and better heads. The problem is he was told by someone all he needed to do was replace the throttle body with one from a Lincoln and he would have the same hp as a Cobra. Before he went out and spent money on it, I wanted to make sure it was worth his while.

Hey dumb ass. Next time you spout off know your definitions.Originally posted by 2 beer View PostTBI is throttle body injected. TB is a throttle body. I highly doubt you want to swap TBI on to a mustang. But hey, I could be wrong.
TBI Unit
A Throttle Body Injector Unit looks somewhat like a carburetor but houses one or more fuel injectors. The fuel is sprayed out the bottom of the TBI unit, mixing with the air that is drawn through the top of the unit similar to a carburetor.
