    1991 Stang ground problem

Strange problem but thinking it is a grounding issue. Ok my blinkers and blower motor don’t work at random times but ever thing else work. Fuse is fine, ground strap from trans to fire is on tight, put in a new flasher. Is there a ground strap inside the car?

Most likely two bad switches. Unrelated to each other

Check the plug that goes into the ignition lock. I had similar problems and the plug that goes to the ignition lock was backing out just enough to lose connection. The car ran, just the normal accessories that are used when it is running didn't work(blinkers, blower motor...etc). I think I have it held together with a zip strap.

Yeah that was it. If I turn the key back a bit without shutting the car off ever thing works. Do need to replace the lock set to fix it?

i had the same problem on a four banger stang years back, Similar solution I just used a zip tie or electrical tape.

So your stang is the teal/gray one that is always at UPULL when I am driving to work?

That was a recall...long since expired. Take the shroud around the column off and look at the left side of the column where all the wires go into the back plate for the ignition. That big piece of plastic that the wires are hooked into it will not be affixed properly and since it is the backplate for the sliders in the ignition the contacts fail to work properly. You just need to do something to hold it firm to the column side of the assembly, for mine it was a couple of dabs of super glue on the edge to hold the sandwich together but like others said tape or zip tie are all the same.
