Stupid headers

Well we got all the old stuff off today and start to put on the new headers and the drivers side is not fitting correctly. Not sure what to do. This is the correct header for a 69 mustang with a 351 Cleveland engine, but it is not working. I do not have Power steering so I know that is fine. It seems to be hitting a motor mount or something and possibly the steering gear box. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Some heat and a BFH should do the trick.

yep, the bfh is key.

ps, what isn't fitting correctly? are you just not getting clearance? you have to usually jack up the motor to gain the clearance to install headers.

We did undo one set of motor mounts, do we need to do the other side at the same time? Tim, what are you doing next Sunday? Can you come help out my buddy and I? I will provide the beer.

Video_Master, where exactly is the fitment issue? I'm having trouble picturing it.

From what I can tell it is the cross member for the tranny, possibly the steering gear box, and the part where the motor mount hooks to.

Did you try going from the under the car ??

going under the car is the only way to get them into the engine bay, so of course we tried it.

I'd call the company that makes the headers and ask them!!
