    Cam

    I just put my stock remanufactured 76 302 in my stang as many of you know, and my question is which cam should I put in???

    Like I said its all stock, and I have some stock ported and milled heads which I am going to use.

    Also, I have a 76 3 speed C4 in the car as well, and I am not putting a stall convertor on it, so keep that in mind.

    Thanks.
    Expect nothing less, maybe more. :idiot:

        I'd go with the B-303 cam just a lil better idle sounding and low end performance over stock.

            (Ponders - scratches goatee) I don't think you'll want anything too radical.

            If you're looking for an alphabet cam then a B or E would be the most fitting. I don't believe those require higher-idles than your stock converter can handle.

            Anything with more "potato" to it will start to effect where you can idle it. Potentially above where your torque stalls.

                    He CAN run a hydraulic cam. He CAN'T run a roller cam. So alphabet cams (rollers) are out for that reson.
                    I would look at summit's flat tappet hydraulic cams. Something like this one:
                    It comes with the cam and lifters for $83...
                    SUM-K3601:
                    Specifications:
                    * Advertised duration: 276 intake/286 exhaust
                    * Duration at .050 in. cam lift: 218 intake/228 exhaust
                    * Gross valve lift: .471 in. intake/.471 in. exhaust
                    * Lobe separation: 114 degrees
                    * RPM range: 2,000 to 4,500

                    (The K3602 would be too much cam for stock heads...)

                      Why not? The change is just a matter of install the "girdle" last I checked.

                        exactly all you need is the "dogbones" and the holder and tap 2 screws. They sell them on ebay ALL the time.

                              Yeah but he can't use a roller camshaft unless he converts to a roller rocker!! And he can't use 5.0 style factory roller rockers because there is no provision to bolt the little spider thingie that holds the "dog bone thingies" in place. He would have to run those exspensive connected roller rockers. SO NO LETTER CAMS!! the are a different material that cannot take a flat tappet hydrauic lifter.

                              Sorry 92 I don't have any input on what cam to run. If you wanted to get a custom I know Ed Curtis is an awesome choice but I think it is gonna be more than you would wanna spend. you might as well convert to roller if you were gonna do that.
