    Starter grind!! =(

    I just put in my 302 and 76 C4.
I put my high tourque 4cyl starter in it and now when I start it, it sticks and wont disengage until i turn the key back and try a couple of times.

Sometimes its not even there, it will fire up with no problem, and sometimes I just cant get it to start without grinding!!!

Its bugging the hell out of me.
Is the gear from the maverick starter and my 4cyl starter different as in metric and standard? or do I just not know what I am talking about.

    Thanks.
Expect nothing less, maybe more. :idiot:

It would seem that the soleniod wasnt pulling the starter gear back after it ingages the flywheel or yes, you indeed have the wrong starter. In either case if 4 clyinder mini starter might be the wrong one for your car now.

ps. I cannot believe how HUGE and heavy those POS oem starters are!

I went drifting through the capitols of tin
where men cant walk or freely talk
and sons turn their fathers in

From the looks of it I dont think I could even fit the OEM starter up in there, thats my problem, otherwise I would put it back on till i got money to buy a new one or figure out whats wrong with the mini one.

      SOMEONE HELP!!

Yea, the OEM starter is wicked huge, my dad uses it to hold stuff down...
