Which heads accept stock 5.0 pistons?

Since I was sold bad heads I am forced to find new ones. In searching I see many heads come with 2.02 intake valves. Is Trick flow the only ones that work with the stock pistons? Or do Edelbrock, AFR, etc.. Also work? Thanks.

afr will work. all heads will depend on your cam selection also.

you should be fine with most heads, never a bad idea to check but i wouldn't worry much.

I'm running a stock 93 short block, trick flow stage 1 cam, 58cc AFR 165's, & Scorpion 1.7 RR's, with no clearance problems. Another combo from my son's 90 LX, stock 90 short block, Comp XE 264 cam(.544 w/1.7 RR's) and Edelbrock Performer 1.90/1.60 heads. I've also ran a stock short block with Trick Flow TW heads & TF stage 1 cam. I did have to have my pistons notched with AFR 185's & an X303 cam though. Just some of my experances.

TFS twisted wedge work with stock pistons. I can't remember what cam you are running, but I know a few people that are running a TFS stang 1 cam with the TW heads without issue.

Like always, you should clay the pistons to check piston to valve clearance.
