ov got an 01 mustang gt. pretty much stock, have megnaflow exhaust, cold air, 4.10 gears, and a programmer. i want to upgrade my cams but have no idea what ones too go with? im running a 13.4@100. so i would like more hp at 4000rpms and up... any suggestions? and if i go with different cams do i need too get different valve springs? any suggestions? thanks a lot.

a motor needs to be a combination of working parts.
What are you looking to gain. HP or exhaust sound???
You have to look at what your stock heads flow and your displacement.Mustangless!Comment

Personally, at this level I dont think there is a need for a custom grind. An off the shelf cam will do fine. If you want to do a blower down the line keep that in mind when choosing a cam.Servicing your Auto, Home, Life, Commercial and Collector & Race Car Insurance needs

weigh your options i say how much are the cams/springs? what else could you get for that amount?
And if you just want to do the cams/spring combo consider replacing a few things along the way like chains, tensioners, serp belt, and thermostat? im sure you already thought of this
i did the same for my GTI when i did my head gasket and cams(262* duration at .050" and .440" lift hydraulic flat tappet) a pretty mild cam but not the smallest you can get. gave 10hp and moved the power band from 6,100 to 6,300 rpm. again thats for a VW VR6 not a 2v 4.6 just showing an example.
