    Arctic Cat F7 shock Question

I have a 2003 Arctic Cat F7 and the rear shock on the rear suspension broke. The resivore broke off and i was wondering if I could just plug the hole for the resivore and get it rebuilt. I was not sure if the valving is different or anything.

    Hi,

Give Jason a call @ 612-281-5099. I've worked with him for years. He builds/rebuilds Arctic shocks/suspensions. He really knows his stuff, builds his own custom mountain sleds. I'm sure he can beat any dealerships deals.

    Good luck,
    Luke

no you cant, the resevoir on those shocks houses the piston that seperates the nitrogen from the oil, if you cut out the resevoir you wouldnt beable to pressurize the shock. you might beable to find a conversion kit for it but you would be better off finding a rear shock from a non-snopro F cat

Same thing happened to my 04 F7, took it to cat to be rebuilt and was told no they can't be plugged off. So i just bought a set from a regular f7 and stuffed them in there, works just fine. I didn't want to put the other set-up back in due to the fact the stupid lines would probably break off again with ice build up and all.

just buy a used shock. there are tons of used standard ones out there, or buy a whole used skid and have spare parts for next time. ebay has lots of stuff, and craigslist too.

You can have a new bottom cap put on it and just make it a shock without a resivore to if you want.

Just buy a used Zero pro they are way stronger and only like 100 bucks which is way cheaper than getting yours rebuilt. Even my Dad without charging you for labor couldnt rebuild yours for a 100 with the patrs you would need.
