why? you can get stock forged 5l blocks at u pull all day for 100 bucks. when your going to break them every week you might as well get a dozen... im running a stock block with my turbo setup but I am going to run stock heads and keep the power down....Originally posted by StockerFox View PostWhy don't you just light you money on fire, spend all that and not upgrade the block?!

The short block(8.5:1 CR) was orignally built with a mild combo in mind, but as always things tend to get out of hand. I'm thinking with a good tune it will last longer than you think. I've got another 331 rotating(probe 4340 crank, light weight I-beams, and the same 20cc dish pistons) sitting in my garage that I am planning on putting into a BOSS/Dart block down the road, but for now the stock block 347 will have to due. If it goes, it goes!89 LX Hatch, DART 363,C4, 88mm turbo,ms3 Pro

Because when shit breaks, it usually takes out more than just the block.Originally posted by budderigs View Postwhy? you can get stock forged 5l blocks at u pull all day for 100 bucks. when your going to break them every week you might as well get a dozen... im running a stock block with my turbo setup but I am going to run stock heads and keep the power down....Originally posted by HackWhy spend all that money just to get a worn out copy of a small block Ford? It's going to be in the junk yard for a reason. I understand you have a religion called LS motors and you have faith that the LS motors break the laws of physics and work better and cost less than anything else ever built. Plus they never wear out.
I disagree.

Crank, heads, rods, cam, oil pump, roller lifters & pistons to name a few parts.
Oh ya, that is if you don't get in the oil/water and slam the wall.
Don't ask, it's a midlife crises thing.
