Need to buy the corect tire size: Help Plz

There were two options available for my car.

225/55/16

and

235/45/17

I have the 16 inch wheels.

I bought some OEM factory 17's

If I go to this site...

I can type in my factory tire and compare the two if I upgrade, the chart says that I will be 1.6% too fast. And my speedo reads 60 mph, I'll be going 59mph.

So if I type in my factory tire and compare it with 245/45/17...this makes more sense, When my speedo reads 60mph, I'll be going 59.9mph and it is 0.02 too fast which is minimal.

I know it's a small amount, but it seems like this works better, but Lexus says that 235 is the correct size.

So, should I go with the 245 or the 235? I am thinking the 245/45/17.

I would just go with the 245 going by the research youve done. The tire will be slightly wider and taller.

Shouldn't matter. I've seen alot of guys that put 19's and 20's on this car, which IMO makes the car look like complete dogshit. I can't believe that people like this look.

None of it matters. It's very common for the actual tire size to differ from stated tire size. You'd need to measure the tire when it's mounted and inflated to find out what it's actually at.

It won't matter. There is too much discrepancy between the actual dimension, and the manufacturer claimed size.
