parking brake ?'s

ok today my parking brake light decided to stay on eventhough my parking brake is completely released. what would i look for to fix this or reset switch/light for the dash so i don't see the parking brake light when i am driving?

In the console I would guess. Maybe try unplugging the connector and then put it back in.

rob, the connector is directly on the parking brake, or is it somewhere up towards the dash?

I had the same problem in my truck. Many times there is an adjustment in the cable that needs to be tightened....it can slacken up over time.

ok, i know this is a dumb question, but how would i be able to tell if there is slack in the lines? i think the only place where i could see the cable is right after teh tranny. should i look there?

i'd look for a possible stuck park brake switch. or just bang the console to unstick it, if it's stuck.

i just went outside to see if the light was stuck on again, and after releaseing the parking brake the light went off. so i am assuming that the switch was stuck.

Sounds good. The slack in my truck was actually from the cable stretching and the lever not returning all the way because of it. I don't know where you would adjust it from on a lever type parking brake, as it is mounted to my firewall on both vehicles.
