What mods do you have on your car? How much time you have to play with it? Are you trying to see if tuning will cure your cold running issues? If you are, I don’t know if its worth the $$$ for it, but then again, a dyno tune is about the same price.

Anyway, here/s my feelings/opinions on it.

I purchased one this spring and am having some good times and bad times with it.

Make sure you get the R/T model. I don’t think I would be able to get anywhere without the datalogging.
The learning curve is very steep. Lots of reading and small changes help quite a bit. I didn’t have any tuning experience before I got my tweecer and it took a good month before I was somewhat comfortable with the tuning, and I'm still not completely confident with my tuning ability. Plan to spend a few months getting comfortable with tuning.

Got to www.eectuning,org and read, read, read.

I would also recommend purchasing Eec Analyzer and Binary Editor($100 combined), they make tuning much easier.

    Good times:
Got my timing and fuel at WOT all figured out so it runs very safely at WOT. Its fun to make a change and see it actually make a difference(good or bad). Runs a little better while cruising and idles much better(but not perfect).

    Bad times:
Still have an unusual leaning issue that seems to have stumped most people. Spent a lot of time idling, datalogging, and analyzing the datalogs. I got about 7mpg on a few tanks.

That’s all can think of now.

You need to call Russ from EFI performance. He is the local dealer and really a super nice guy. He will take the time to answer your questions.

I have one and I love it. Like was stated before, be prepared to spend allot of time learning how everything works and what the terminology is. The good thing about the tweecer is there seems to be allot more info out there for the a9l and a9p processors which would be great in your car, with very little effort to install one.

I as well have been thinking of a Tweecer R/T what extra's are needed as far as getting up and running? I allready have a spare laptop with Windows XP does that work with Tweecer? Anything else?

You dont need anything else, but I would recommend a wideband and purchase Eec Analyzer and Binary Editor. EA and BE are similar to the Calcon software, but I find it much easier to understand and more useful.

Once you have a "BASE TUNE" . Calcon is easy to use. There are only a few of the feilds or screens you would use after the base tune is set anyways. And RT is a must. Data logging is only way to see what you need to change after making a pull or a pass at the track. I was changing my fuel tables and spark tables all the time , just looking for more. And with 4 different tunes at the flip of a switch, what more could you ask for?? Had A couple of 92 oct tunes and a couple of RACE GAS tunes. Was awesome. 24DEG. 26 DEG, 28 DEG, AND 30 DEG tunes.
It is a damn poor mind indeed which can't think of at least two ways to spell any word.

Now what about the PMS is that worth it's weight? I guess I like the idea that it seems to be easier to switch on the fly while you are out driving/testing. No need for a laptop and trying to control a mouse and so on. Does the PMS get the job done as well? Do you still want a wideband with the PMS?

I have a PMS. Back in 2000 when i got it that was pretty much all there was. Works good, but like the Tweecer you need to put your time in to understand it. You will find it difficult to find a dyno tuner thats likes to use either. But i guess thats the whole reason so you can do it yourself

Interesting.. I called and left a message and NEVER got a call back. After a few weeks I sent an email. NO REPLY.

I sure didn't buy from him!

edit: This was a year or two ago. Maybe the ownership has changed since then??

Well, I sent him an e-mail a few months ago and he got back to me the next day with a starting tune.

When did you call? I'm near the phone Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. There is voice mail also. I usually pick up the phone calls if they look local. (note: putting a phone number on the web ='s 5 telemarketers calling me a day.) I usually don't run when it is ringing...

The best way to get a hold of me is through E-mail. EFI(at)EFIPerformance.net That way you can E-mail me your tune for me to see or adjust it for you.

That will work fine. You don't need too much of a computer to run a TwEEC'.
