Anderson Power Pipe vs. Fenderwall CIA

ok i have been looking at some power pipes from Anderson Ford Motorsport and I was wondering what I would benefit by going with one of their power pipes vs. my fenderwall cia. supposedly they say on their website that you can pick up anywhere from 3-10 rwhp over a standard kit.

lets hear some opinions on these powerpipes. I understand where the mandrel bent piping comes into play, but I can't see that much of an increase by going with that expensive of a pipe.

    Let me know.

    Thanks,
    Tim

I'm pretty sure most chrome CAI kits come in 3.'' The AFM power pipes come in 3.5'' or 4.'' They also reach down further into your fender than most kits.

I like the AFM because you don't see it quite as often as the BBK/MAC

really are those the ones that go short from the T.B. right into the fender unlike my BBK one where it goes from the T.B> down to Mass AIR then into the fender right behind the headlight?

Tim, if your looking to gain power that youll notice its not going to be found in a power pipe, honestly you can keep spending $200 here and there but its like beating a dead horse, If you want your car to run some nice numbers you need to start looking at the big picture, I would just save the money and get into a better set of heads and a more aggresive cam, with your current intake/TB/MAf/CAI that would be an easy ticket to some nice numbers. There are deals to be had, make the right friends and you'll be amazed and the awsome cheep parts that crawl out of the woodwork, just get the bank roll up sit back and wait. with money on tap you can move on hot parts when they show up, thats gona be your best ticket to going fast IMHO I just found (local) a set of very nice Edelbrock 6037's (some port work even)with rockers studs and Crane gold race rockers, $550 and mint as can be, just keep your eyes and ears open and save the money, dont make mistakes by waisting it away on changes that yeild little to no real world gains on your application.

anyways on a side note the AFM pipes are really nice, but after seeing them I'm convined you could make one just as nice and possibly better suited to your needs, in my case I cant even run a off the shelf one as they wont clear the Miers Racing strut tower brace I have. When you think about its its just a few u bends cut up and rearanged, add in some nice powdercoat and a few misc rubber connectors and you maybe have $60 in materials.

            hope this helps Bill

              good advice guys. I agree

You could spend $1000 switching out every little bolt on part and gain .3 in the quarter or you could just bite the bullet and get those damn heads already.

                Tim,
                Check out this site. http://www.jlttruecoldair.com/

I know his site say's his kits are for the newer mustangs. You ought to give this guy a call. Maybe he has something in the works for the 5.0. A guy dynoed his mach after installing his CAI kit and they picked up like 19 rwhp and I forget how much torque. :idiot:

You get that PCV adapter fitted properly yet?

I have a similar issue with my MRT CAI.
The interface hose from the PCV to the port on the CAI is short by about 1-1.5". The new couplers are made of that really soft silicon/silicone (whatever) material, so it has a tendency to pull out on its own.

Found I can get it to stay pretty solid if I short change both ends of the connection a bit. Would still like to find a longer molded PCV hose though.
