    Motor Clearances

Ok, Ive been sitting on this motor long enough! I want this Goddamn fucking motor in my car. Im ready to order parts but dont trust the assembly of the motor. I get sick to my stomach everytime I look at my car in pieces all over the garage!

The block was done over by DSS and all the other parts to the 408 are gathered from other companies. The dude I bought it from assembled it himself. There is always a possibility of mistakes.

Could you fine folks be so helpful to let me know who here has the time and the ability to check over all the clearances. I guess its just simply crushing some plastagauge? Im at my breaking point.

I went drifting through the capitols of tin

and sons turn their fathers in

Which clearances are you unsure of? If it is just the main bearing clearance then you just need some plastigauge and a good torque wrench. If you are talking about ring end gap and bore tolerances then you will have to have it disassembled; in which case I think you should disassemble it in your garage then bring all the parts to a engine shop and have them check the block and parts, then have them assemble it. If it is good there will be no machine work and it will be pretty cheap.

I have my doubts that it would be cheap or have a quick turn around
