car pops but wont start

i was having trouble the other day starting my 90 lx, it popped off a couple of times then i held my foot to the floor and it started, then i went out on thursday morning to leave and the same thing happened, but this time no startsies, put in a new fuel pump today along with a new fuel filter, same thing happened again?
Any ideas fellas? thanks

Ignition module? PIP sensor? You need to make sure you have all of your basics first before you go any further.

Check the coil

I have had that issue a while back, my plugs were fouled. My car was running rich and fouled the plugs, i would check that. Start at the cheapest parts than work your way up.

check your fuel pressure, sounds like you are flooding it. if you hold it to the floor while trying to start it the computer kills the injectors for said instance.
