The synchro on the #2 gear is toast.

That's normal on a Mustang. Do I have to show you how to drive the car?

I'm with Wheelspin ... time for a new 1-2 synchro.

Try as you might it's probably toast. $20 Double-clutching would get rid of most (if not all) the grind.

The 96's were notorious for having the 1-2 grind.

                Synchros.

They also had a problem with the shifter popping out of reverse.

you letting go of the fact about not knowing that most foxes grind going into reverse, you didnt know ok thats fine...stop taking that aggression out on everyone that has a problem with their tranny....jesus are you that mad at yourself for not knowing that, that you have to take it out on everybody else? Just let it go.

It *could* be a Clutch problem, but that starts showing up on the other shifts too.

The Synchros are about it... tear down time.

Ducky, Mine didnt show on other gears, and my clutch needed to be replaced. I guess its different for every car.
