I have 17x8" wheels in the back of my car with the stock width rear. I usually like the look of my car but when you look at it at an angle it has the typical sunken in wheel look. Im debating if I want to put 1" wheel spacers in the back to bring out the wheels. The thing is I usually think stuff like this looks half assed but I dont want to buy new wheels. Opinions.

Wheels spacers are the bomb. Seriously. I made mine out of cardboard and then just used some BMW paint on them for looks. The color is called AlpenSilber.

Dave, stay out of the tech section.
From what I hear they have to be torqued down at a really specific sequence also or you can damage them causing a vibration. Maybe that's just the aluminum ones. I don't run em, but I think there are a few on here who do.

I used to run wheel spacers until I sold my ghetto ride to King of Pimps Dan Neinstadt. Now I roll four deep in my 93 Cobra on the weekends. Anywho, Yeah, if you're going to tighten lugnuts use a star pattern and torque them down evenly.Originally posted by Roast'emDave, stay out of the tech section.

I'm running 1" spacers and it made a night and day difference in the looks dept. until I can afford the 9" wheels. If torqued properly, they will not move or come loose. I installed them last year in May and they are still as tight as they were the day I installed them.

i think its worse on 94+ cars how far in the tires sit. heres a couple pics of my old 94 gt with 17x8 wheels, and 275/40 tires. you can find 1" spacers for $100.

after:
01 Audi S8: Stock, needs turbos
94 Black GT: A4 337, T76 Cartech turbo kit, AFR 205's, Sheet Metal Upper/GT40 Lower, Tremec TKO, F.A.S.T.
I do not buy from X2C Motorsports anymore, and advise my friends to do the same.
