Wheelhop on my '05 GT.

Are these things known for having wheelhop issues? It does it more than any other Mustang I've had, and it's the newest. Is there an easy fix for it? I have Nitto 18" tires (not drag radials) at the moment, and the wheelhop is the same as it was with the stock Pirelli 17" tires.

It's especially prominent if/when the tires spin in the rain, as well as when I'm doing a burnout and the 1-2 shift at the track.

get some new lower control arms. bmr or j&m seem to be the best ones. fixs the wheel hop instantly.

I guess the Gt-500 hops a lot also. Maybe a change of spring would help. It could use a bit of lowering. 1-1 1/2 inches would do the trick.

harder springs and control arms.. if you're out of traction badly, that can cause it too, get a stickier tire. if you had sticky tires on it, you prolly have shot bushings, get new ones. I've seen wheel hop caused by a shitload of things, there's a hundred fixes out there, but none of em are guaranteed to work unless you do some detective work first to figure out why it's happening.

and as for the heavy thing; I dunno man, my car wheelhopped at one point like crazy, and it was around 3100 lbs + me at the time. turns out it was blown apart bushings in the upper control arms. The one I liked the most was on my 96 gt. flat runflat tires. can't fucking tell with them things when they're flat... but oh man they'll wheelhop like crazy when they don't have the pressure in em.
