I’m going to try and put a new valve body w/shift Kit in this weekend and was wondering what kind of transmission fluid I should use? Is B&M Trick Shift any good?
I go with any Royal Purple, I have never herd anything bad about them, and my tranny loves it. Before it used to grind a lil bit going into 5th gear, now it goes in to 5th smoth and find as like all the other gears too!
I was just going to say that the trick shift IS ford F with color additive.
I"ve run F in every race trans I"ve ever built/run. Never had a problem with it. If you want HARD/FIRM shifts, F is the way to go. Just make sure to run a good cooler, and change it often.

Type-F has a friction modifier that is not as slippery as Dextron/Mercon fluid. For a performance transmission it is best, better shifts. At least this is true for the AOD/AOD-E and C4/C6. Some of the new truck transmissions do not like anything but the recommended fluid.
I was having overheating problems with my AOD and went to Amsoil Racing Automatic Transmission Fluid. It has the same friction modifies as type-F (it is rated type-f). I love the way it shifts and my average temps went down by nearly 20 degrees. It is VERY expensive though...
