Sooo....how much more timing can I run with 110 octane?

Casey tuned my car pretty conservatively, with only 19 degrees of total timing (and only 8psi peak boost). I usually run 92 octane only. I was going to try some 110 leaded at the track, and was wondering how much I can rotate the ole' distributor.

    I was thinking 4-5 degrees?

I would say if your going to drain "all" of the 92 out you "might" be able to get away with it. If mixing....2 maybe 3 degrees.
You usually dont get any chances before you lift a headgasket
Why risk it though if you are selling it? Head gaskets are no fun

You will know when to stop. It will poop out a headgasket.

110 leaded?? Your o2 sensors won't like that.
105 unleaded.....28-30 total, if that's all in the gas tank no mixing it with 92, just straight 105 and if you can't find 105 go with 100 unleaded and you should be able to run 25-28 total.

            I would be conservative, Kris.

How high are your IAT's? And what heads do you have again?

                1. I don't know. I know Casey has it set up to pull 3 degrees out if the IATs go over a certain temp. He might remember where I'm at.

I would think you'd be able to get away with 25-26ish easily on that little of boost, but I'm no tuner (only on my own car) I'd talk to Casey and see what he suggests.

I'd second that. With my V2SQ I ran 12-13lb's and about 20 deg's total on pump gas, at the track I'd add 6-8 degrees with the "mystery" Mobil 111, probably could have added more since I was intercooled.

To many variables, you can add timming and lose power also. MBT is a fine fine line on boost.

Where can you buy 100 unleaded now? Most places stopped carying it in favor of E85 I thought.
