1997 pontiac grand am, any problem areas?

I'm buying a 1997 pontiac grand am gt with the 3.1 v6 and i'm just wondering if there are any common problem areas i should know about? I've heard the 3.1's are bad for intake gaskets but is there anything else i should know about?

They are good throw away cars so there are lots of places to buy cheap parts. But lets see there problem areas are, Intake gaskets,headgaskets, wheelbearings,transmissions,alternators,waterpumps , some electrical issues. hopefully ost of that has been replaced at some point

Well damn maybe i shouldn't buy it after all haha, it's only 1500 bucks and it appears to be pretty nice so

To late you already did... Oh well if it starts giving me problems i'll just sell it for more than i paid for it, lots of dumbass high school kids around here that would think its a fast car because it says gt on it
