I know it is red. But I can't remember how many teeth. I called Summit Racing and they were able to tell me the Ford number If I remember right, then I called the local Ford dealer and had them get me one. Nick

for some reason i am thinking that it might be a 23 tooth gear. :idiot: dave, just call up a performance shop like db and ask, they will be more then happy to shed some light on your question.
I had my speedo off when had gotten gears. I have a extra 22tooth red gear that ya can have fo FREE. I put in a purple 21tooth and I only have 3:27's in the rear 8.8 rear end. Im guessing that ya will need a 22 tooth from what i undstand. Its only $7 from Apple Valley ford! I'll have too look in the garage tomarrow and see If ts still whereI left it.
You need the white 23 tooth speedo driven gear, assuming you still have the stock '93 transmission with the 8 tooth drive gear. Your speedometer will still read a little bit high, but with that's a close as you can get (no 24 tooth gears). Also, the 23 tooth wear out very quick.
If you want to have it right on, you have to change to a 7 tooth drive gear like '83-'89 T5s and use a 21 tooth red gear.
The only catch with the drive gear is it's harder to replace. You have to remove the tailshaft housing from the tranny to access it. Supposedly it can be done without removing the tranny from the vehicle.
Fuck that. Maybe I'll just leave it the way it is, with the speedometer needle bouncing and the speedometer incorrect. Is this something a dealer could fix? Or wouldn't they want to fuck with it since it's not factory?

It all depends on what tooth your internal drive gear is.
I would assume a 93 Cobra would fall under the 8 tooth drive gear, my resources say nothing about a cobra under a 96 model year
