    Noisy lifters 4.6 DOHC?

I just fired my 4.6 DOHC 97 Cobra engine after a fresh rebuild and the lifters have a fairly loud chatter? It is the orignal engine with 03 Cobra rods & pistons, and stock crank. Its all been rebalanced. The heads have a fresh vavle job, new oil pump, all new gaskets, etc. BBK long tube heads and a Vortech S-trim with the 3.33 pully. Its got 42 lbs injectors with a Lightning mass air meter. I ran the engine for about 5 minutes after initial start up and the lifters still have a little chatter to them. Do I need to run/drive it some more for the noise to go away? I know there are no adjustment for them. Any advice would be great.

    Thanks.

Sometimes they are noisy for a lil more than 5min....However if your heads were machined, and the proper valve stem tip high not checked and set properly, that will effect your valve lash after the valve job, and depending on what was done, can cause excessive lash, if the valve stem tips were excessively dressed.
