89 F150 + Low Range Light

Had something goofy happen today...

Low range light on the 89 Came on and wont shut off.
Truck will go in and out of 4 wheel high/low fine. The low range light never turns off.

The truck is mint though.

Either have a stuck 4-lo switch at the t-case or a short in the 4-lo switch wiring.

I found the cause. this can be locked up.

At least yours goes into four wheel...Mine just clicks under the dash and nothing happens????any thoughts

Well i found 2 things...

1) The shift Rod from the floor shifter to the Transfer case is loose... Don't even know HOW it went into 4 wheel when i used it the other night.

2) Apparently the CableThing that held the wiring around the tranny/sensors and whatever else under there Rusted/broke/or walked away from the truck as it is no longer there... The wires were loose, and apparently the uber high speed 20 mph corner swayed the wiring into the knuckle for the front drive shaft and cut it. So, i get to get under it, strip, splice, tape and re align all those wires. Then make sure it wont happen again .

Not a huge deal, something ive never had happen before..

I've owned 3x 4x4 bronco's and this is my 5th 4x4 F150. First time ive ever had either of the above 2 happen. Same with the tank issue, on all the trucks ive owned with dual tanks, none of them ever had an issue.

Little things. I'm glad they are happening now, and not later. Like when im out in Northern MN with nothing around!
