    Dual Gas Tank Question

Hah, full of em this week.
I've never had this issue on a Dual tank before..

When the Front Tank and rear tank is full...
And i have the front tank selected, why does it start overflowing out of the gas cap? I know there was a recall for the valve in the line or whatever on these ford trucks, but ive never had one do this.
IM guessing this is the issue, but, i do no know...

    Cliffs:
    89 F150 W/Dual tanks.
When both tanks are full and the Front tank is selected for fuel source, it overflows. However with both tanks full and rear tank selected, it does not overflow.

Go to Ford and give them the VIN, see if the recall has been performed on your truck. If not, they'll do it for free.

        Hmmm

I called and they didin't show an OPEN recall on the truck. Although it does fall into this recall.

Ford doesnt keep info past 10 years any how. I don't know that this is still open...
They quoted me $300 to replace the valve. I said no thanks.

That exactly what it is a check ball gets stuck open the transfer vavle and fills the front tank what I used to do was run the front tank down then switch it to the rear so it would fill the front again and switch back to the front. And come to think of it there was a noticible power difference in the engine when I would switch tanks. Bottom line is it does need to be replaced. Also I think it might all be one assembly coming out of the tank.

I would drain the front tank down, but if i attempt to drive on it, it overflows

You gotta do something drive till you see fire then get out and run like hell if no fire keep going or go faster to put out the flames.
