Best bang for the buck

Looking for some kind of power adder this year. To get the heap running quicker. Already in the works is a cam, gears, stall and weight reduction (ok for driver already down 40# this year). Thinking about the bottle. Unfortunatley got to keep it under $500.

Paul you can score a carb plate kit for fairly cheap on ebay or even on here. I would suggest investing in a few safety items just to cover your ass in the event of a mishap. RPM window switch and a bottle heater are a must. The RPM window switch will prevent you from activating the nitrous to early in the rpm band and the bottle heater will make sure your bottle pressure is up to snuff. the only problem with nitrous is if the bottle pressure gets to high. then it becomes a problem. hmmm $500. that cuts out a lot of options.

I bought a set of used aluminum heads for $300. a valve job and decking was another $300. I know it's a hundred more than your budget but I know in conjunction with a cam it'll add 100hp in many cases.

Or you could spray it and make 150 more hp at the wheels. Other than refilling the bottle part Nawz is great.

Somehow i can't believe your 15+..... Why stop @ 15's... 13's should be EASILY Attainable...

15s was a Joke my heap runs about 13.90 now. It's a little quicker than a stock 06 mustang GT. Raced two of them and won by about a 1/2 a car. Basically running a stock 351w out of a truck. Removed all emissions and the FI.
here's the list.
670 4bbl carb
1 inch carb spacer plate
Edelbrock performer intake
points to electronic conversion
MSD blaster 2 coil
Taylor 409 wires
Headers with Thrush welded chamber mufflers dumps in front axle.
Trans has shift kit
3.25 gears w/posi.

this years mods
3.55 or 3.73 gears w/ mini spool (I have two center sections)
cam haven't made final decision yet probably will go Crower
1900 to 2100 rpm stall. (bought cheap from Bigblock Paul)
not HP related but Front disc brakes gotta make her stop better.

Future engine couple years away 408 or 427 stroker gotta get body complete but will be still driven as much as possible

Cam should help, are you running long tubes or shorties? If shorties, upgrade. I would go for the 3.73's personally, but thats up to you. Maybe run the #'s through acalculator, on tire size and everything, to see if 3.73's or 3.55's are going to give you your best 1/4 MPH/time
