I'm using the crane kit. It's worked very well for me. I prefer a magnetic pickup vs. a unilite style because of sensitivity to voltage spikes causing premature failure. It takes more time than they advertise, but it's very straightforward.

We sell lots of pertronix kits but I've never installed any of them.

My dads 69 coupe has a pertronix easy to install and they work really nice no MSD but it pepped it up a bit.

I am using the crane very easy setup plus has a built in rev limiter. Took about about 20 minutes to install. With a 5 and 2 year old bugging me. Been using it for 2 years now and no issues.

I installed a Mallory Unilite kit 20 years ago and it still works flawlessly. Many friends have installed pertronix on their vintage muscle cars without any issues. I'd vote Pertronix after seeing their successes.

the rev limiter function sounds like the deal breaker to me

when you set the rev limiter test first that its set right it can be hard to read. But is very acurate. It's not a very soft limiter. It gets the job done though. If memory serves me it limits to 6 or 7000. I have ran it against the limiter a couple times. Checked it with my tach (autometer) shift light and rev limiter went off at the same time.

I've used the Pertronix on a couple cars and it worked/works great for me. Easy to install and dead reliable. I noticed a power gain in my I6 250 when I had that in my '70 (I ran it that way with no problems for 6 or 7 years). Now I'm using Duraspark and a 302..
