Turbos vs. Superchargers

I'd say start out with a goal in mind then decide what you want. Do you 800 rwhp, or 1200 rwhp? A descent SC and a stroker kit will easily get you 700 to 800 rwhp. Do you want pump gas or race gas? It would be easier to help you out if you give us your goals of what you want and how much you want to spend. BTW any shortblock for those HP levels, is gonna start getting expensive.

I went for a positive displacement SC for my car. Low end tq makes your passenger look all
when you hit the on-ramp.

So lets say I was shooting around the idea of a supercharger setup for next year on my LX, what would be the best bang for the buck, I would like to get on that is self oiling???2002 Ford Excursion

Turbo is more eff, you dont have a hot piece of alum forcing air into the motor. but if you need something simple without the big boom... supercharger because it's not capable of going from 5psi to 30psi by twisting a knob.

It has been beat to death already, if you want to see more discussions use the search button
You'll see on soo many other forums too it has been discussed. It comes down to many more things (like its intended application, what the user is looking to get out of it, how much it costs, and how much fab work is OK)than what is better than the other.

superchargers are a little more simple and i think they can be a little cheaper to runJeremy

As for pricing goes, no one ever considers that the turbo kits usually come with the turbo(s) and headers/exhaust. You add that to most SC kits and they end up costing pretty damn close to the same.
