Alright I recently put an e cam in my 302 with a powerdyne blower at 6lbs of boost. upped fuel pressure etc etc. I talked with a few people and they said i may have a crappy run problem cause of vacuum issues. Well got it all back together and go to start it and have absolutely no vacuum. Is this something that just needs to be tuned out at a shop? or could it be in issue in my timing? I don't want to take it to a shop to find out that my timing is completely jacked up and have to pay more to have that fixed as well.. any imput on this?

Welcome to 94-95 ECU's. DB Performance told me the lobe seperation of your camshaft needs to be around 119 for 94-95s. Paying for a tune apparently will do nothing...I learned that the hard way. You basically either need to run a custom grind camshaft or switch to a different ignition system. I've been dealing with this fucking problem for over a year now...I finally said fuck it and am waiting on a custom grind from FTI. Good luck.
I just re-read your post...you have no vacuum? That is definitely not the camshaft...you would have at least registered some vacuum on a guage. I'd look for a leak. But in any event, the camshaft you are running will cause issues regardless...the lobe seperation is too great.Last edited by KickAssFlash; 10-22-2007, 01:31 PM.

You may have the rockers screwed down to far thus the valves never close all the way.... It just something I have seen before.
Good Luck

Make sure your timing is set correctly (10 deg base) I would suggest getting it tuned by someone as idle can be touchy, but if it is only an E cam, it should idle no problem at all once it is properly tuned. I know I have done 10-15 SN95s with that camshaft and it is pretty gravy- I would say you have something else wrong... Double check for large vacuum leaks (hissing, or spray with FLAMMABLE brake clean, etc) You say you raised the FP, how much??? You should only raise it if it needs it, set it to 39-42 psi and get the car tuned- that way it adds fuel @ WOT instead of at idle, where it doesn't need anymore. Alright well the vacuum issue was a fluke. the guage was faulty but with another guage it did register cranking vacuum. Still no start though. I did get ahold of DB performance and one of the guys there wanted me to check to make sure that my timing was set on the compression stroke. (which i had 180 off) So that was of some help. I now have that sete correctly but it still does not start. It gets to the point where it sounds like it will fire but then stumbles off. I am currently in the process of ripping the front timing cover off to check that my timing is set dead on. my fuel pressure is set at about 42 pounds at idle and under load it jumps up to around 48-50 lbs of pressure. i am on my stock heads. Another symptom i am having is when it is trying to start it is sort of popping out of the intake, which is usually an indication of a timing issue. I will be getting the car tuned once i can at least get it to idle with this cam. I have heard from enough people now that it should at least idle on this cam. Thanks for all the input and anymore would deffinetly help
