    What does it take (suspension).....

....to make a fox not suck on the road? Lizs car is kinda sloppy and I dont know anything about suspension It does have really crappy welded in subframes and as far as I know, thats it. What really improves driving daily? She would like it to feel more like my car (95, B springs, full lenght UPR subs, everything else stock) It really follows the road groves bad. Its hard to explain other than I think it is the worst driving car I have been in Great example of the car, but a really bad car Does it need just springs? Better bushings? I am at a loss.

How can it be made better and what will it cost?

    I disagree.

I would be willing to be her control arm bushings are probably shot. weak shocks/struts could be a cause as well. springs just hold the vehicle up, the shocks, struts as you know control bump and rebound of the vehicle. Get under the car and inspect the bushings and report back. cracked, torn bushings will give you a sloppy feel. Almost feels like the rear end is walking on you.

you want it to handle and not launch? Lower it but research spring rates before you do otherwise you will have the honda hop and a harsh ride.

Keep in mind its a 20 year old car, shits worn out for sure. So the more you replace the better it will feel. First check and make sure nothing is loose, then we can go from there.

that just means he under engineers the shit that is impossible for you to install without a full dissasembly

I will look at it. All I know is my car feels solid and handles nice on the street, and her escort handles better than this does. This is gonna be by no means a drag car for her, just a weekender like my car that goes to the track a few times a year I bet. Just a littl ebetter street manners would be nice. I will check out some stuff tomorrow and post up. What should I be looking for. What bushings? Control arms, sway bar links, what else.

The sn cars handle better then the fox cars supposedly, just the design of the chassis. Check the control arm bushings and sway bar bushings if they are shot they will be oblong instead of round. I asked about a drag car because that will determine the shocks and struts as well as springs and swaybars or a lack of. Pretty sure she doesnt want to go with 90/10 struts and no front sway bar though.

Some decent shocks and new bushings should really help it out. I wouldnt worry about springs, you need shocks that can control the springs before you upgrade the springs.

Wide tires on the front will magnify tram-lining, which is what you are describing. Before you go nuts replacing things, have the alignment checked out. I have all new bushings, shocks and struts and a PHB/TA rear set up. My car tram-lines really bad. I have 275s up front and a very aggressive alignment. I can hardly keep the car straight on co rd 81, back and forth...in and out of the truck ruts.

If you must spend money and want a nice set up for the street go get some Bilsteins and your choice of spring.

PS- SN95 and fox suspension parts are almost entirely interchangeable and the suspension design is essentially the same. The SN95 is roughly 3" wider front and rear than the fox.

Call DB and see what he recommends. He's worked on a lot of foxes.
