    Steeda Cold Air Kit?

Ok i've been thinking of getting a cold air kit for my Cobra. The only one I really like the looks of so far is the Steeda GT High-Flow kit. The thing i'm not sure about is will it fit a Cobra,('99), is there a difference between a Cobra and a GT? When I looked at the K&N FIPKs they had a different part number for GT and Cobra and I didn't really like the looks of the K&N either, any ideas?

Also i've heard of idle problems with the kits, is it just a temporary thing til the computer adjusts or what, any help would be great thanks

A GT kit will not fit a cobra because of the oval throttle body. The GT's have a round throttle body.

The K & N kit that goes on the Mach has idle problems also. People that had the problem would pull the battery cables until the radio stations and the clock would clear. It takes about 1 hour to clear the computer all the way out. Like I said before, if the radio stations and the clock don't clear you didn't keep the cable off long enough. I would clear the computer for any CAI kit. The manual in the glove box will give you step by step procedures to follow if you clear the computer out. The procedures are not nessecassary but it will help the computer learn faster.

Another fix for the idle problem was to reinstall the MAF screen if the aftermarket CAI kit does not have one. People did this if the computer clear out didn't work.

There is also MRT and C&L CAI kits. I'm not sure if these company's make a kit for a cobra. You would have to call or do some research.

      GOOD LUCK!

Steeda's GT kit will definately not work on your cobra. As a standard I would stick with parts designed for your car. Most of the time if it isn't built for your cobra it probably won't fit.

I have a K&N FIPK kit on my GT and it works great. No idle problems.

I have to agree. Only buy stuff that is made for your car. Don't try to rig anything up.
