4.6 auto ?

Baumann makes a controller for the 4R70W, it's about $375 IIRC, and you can shift the damn thing via the cruise control buttons if you wish, it's pretty slick!!! Also, there is some 4.6 AOD (non-electronic) tranny applications, I want to say 92 or 93 Crown Vics or Lincoln Town cars have the 4.6 with an AOD.

you can get mod motor bellhousing's for C4's

idk if you can get a ford auto trans that doesnt need a computer to run, i think the only thing you could get would be a aod but i dont believe that fits a 4.6, i have a built 4r70w in my car that works fantasticly, i can even manualy shift it(dont know if its good for it though) but still holds together strongly eventhough its a stock motor

figure out what's wrong with the T56... it'll be prolly just as much $$ and in the end you'll have a much more fun car... you're not making the HP to warrant a built auto yet... and the T56 will last a long time with your power.

thats na but next year I will be running alot or power like a extra 175shot of nitrous I am maxing out the silinoids I have cause I can so a auto will be helpfull

what zee means to say is next year after the engine has about 10k on it he is turning the spray up to 300 shot. that is what this engine was made to take and more... there are thoughts of doing a procharger with a 200 shot in the works as well.

There was a year or two the Crown Vics or Town Cars had 4.6's before they went to the AOD-E.

edit; Early 92 Crown Vic's and 91 to early 92 Town Car's had the 4.6/AOD combo.
