Do you own an under-dash plugin computer?

Hi, Im brand new to TC STANGS, and I haven't even uploaded pictures of my stang yet, but im really hoping on somthing..

If you have one of those hand-held computer chip programmers that plug in under the dash, and would be willing to give me directions to your house on an evening when you have nothing better to do, I WOULD PAY YOU to let me use it, and here's why:

I just jumped from stock gears to 3:73's, and I don't mind that my speedometer is off so much, as I REALLY mind that NOW my stang's odometer is recording 3 miles for every 2 that I drive!! THATS BAD!! so after i drive another thousand miles, it's gonna read on my odometer that i drove 1,500....

SOO all i need is one of those under-dash plug ins (commonly made by "Hypertech") so that i can re-callibrate my speedometer.
I would buy one, but they cost $450 and wel... im a college student hehe

Anyone who knows ANYother way (OR SHOP THAT I CAN GO TO) that can re-callibrate my speedometer and odometer, I will be SOO HAPPY!!

thank you for taking the time to read this big ol' long message...

The ODB programmers marry the vin when they change parameters so they can only be used on one car. You have to uninstall any changes before it can be used on a different car. Also many of them are EEC code dependant so you would need to find someone with an EEC in the same family.

    P.S welcome aboard.

btw, thanks for the reply, shadow. I hardly had the post up an hour, hehe

Todd at APS Autoworks can make a Diablo chip for you to do that. I think a normal chip is $250 for a dual position chip. If you only wanted one program maybe he would give you a better price.

Is your car a 1998? If its not then you dont need the reburned chip.
