What would cause a car to, for the lack of a better workd - 'buck' while driving it. It can be real jerky at times. A guy can sort of learn to make the best of it and drive differently to lessen the effect... but it can still be irritating. Would the clutch be suspect?

too low of a rpm?Originally posted by HackWhy spend all that money just to get a worn out copy of a small block Ford? It's going to be in the junk yard for a reason. I understand you have a religion called LS motors and you have faith that the LS motors break the laws of physics and work better and cost less than anything else ever built. Plus they never wear out.
I disagree.

My car does that in low rpm ever since I got my cams.. I'm going to get gears at some point here to remedy the situation.

It does it when clutch is engaged at speed in either 3rd of 4th, not touching the clutch. Sometimes it'll do it in 4th bad enough that it makes me downshift to 3rd to get the Rs' back up (which it does NOT like to go down to 3rd), and that'll help a bit... but it'll still do it somewhat. I'm not sure if it matters when it's cold or hot... but if I had to pick one over the other, I'd say when it's operating temp. So no cam swaps... no real mods... just a high mileaged beater that I'm wondering if something can be figured out/fixed somewhat cheaply. I know it's a reach, but what the hellOriginally posted by tim View PostWhat kind of car? More specific about when it happens, please.
Is it more of a chatter when engaging the clutch or just constant RPM not touching the clutch and it is 'bucking'? Under heavy load or no? Hot or cold?

Yeah, it stops if the clutch pedal is pushed in, weather I downshift or not. It'll happen in 4th a lot for sure... maybe not so much as accerating to 5th so much as just trying to keep it in 4th and drive around in that gear. It seems to take issue with it sometimes. Sometimes in 3rd too... but more often in 4th I think. So maybe casual driving I guess, partial throttle.Originally posted by tim View PostDoes it stop when you just push the clutch and not downshift? Are you trying to accel in 4th when it happens or is it just casual driving partial throttle?F/S: '94 Cobra, Rio Red/Saddle, 34.5K Orig Miles, Light Mods, 20yr Owner.

Not that I'm aware of, no. Headgasket was done just before I bought it a few years ago. Once in a great while I might get the slightest hint of antifreeze... but it's hard to tell really. Could be from the heater core for all I know, as the aftermarket ones don't seem to last that long really.Originally posted by 2 beer View Postlosing any coolant?F/S: '94 Cobra, Rio Red/Saddle, 34.5K Orig Miles, Light Mods, 20yr Owner.
