    stuck in park ....??

I just threw in new springs, bushings and misc suspension and brake stuff...

i hopped in to take it for a spin and it wont come out of park. It would seem i cant push in the button on the lever far enough to get it to unlock so i can put it in another gear.

IM sure it is something easy but any quick ideas? I was hoping to get the thing out for a test drive tonight.

THe brakes wear changed out for new calipers in the front and new stainless lines all the way around. The springs are HR sport springs and took the car down about 1.25 inches. (binding??)

    probably something simple but wtf?

is the steering wheel locked? If so turn it the direction you can and retry.

Plus they never wear out.

    I disagree.

      nope...

it is fine in the engine off position...but with the key on...or with the key all the way off (so you can take it out) it is locked. I have to turn it to off.....then put it in neutral....then start it.....then go. If i go into park while it is running i have to shut the motor off....go back to neutral.....and start it again...

      very weird..

        do your brake lites work?
if your brake lites are not coming on the shift interlock will not let you shift from park.
it's almost allstock! except the wheels.

Is there a shifter position sensor on the gear selector? I'd bet this is the problem
