    AC question

03 Crown Vic, old state trooper car, has an 04 computer in it.

I got teh AC recharged today and found out that the fan will not kick on when the AC is on. I don't know if it's supposed to be on all the time when the AC is on or only when the high side is building enough pressure. Either way, it doesn't turn on when it's supposed to. The fan does turn on normally with coolant temp. The guy who was working on my car thought that it was a High Side Pressure switch. He said either the switch is bad, or for some other reason, the EEC isn't getting the signal. I wound up at Morries and their not sure what that switch is, even when I took the parts guy out to look at it, that switch or sensor is not in their diagram. I'm hopeing someone knows what it is or if it cold be the problem.

KIND OF HARD TO TELL FROM THE PICS.

looks like a pressure switch for the a/c. high or low.

i dont think that controls the fan though.
i would check the wiring and the fan itself,fuses,ect...

most times it is just a connection problem.

        did THE A/C WORK BEFORE?

The AC didn't have enough charge to do anything before. The AC works, the fan doesn't. The fan works fine otherwise. The problem is that I don't know what that part is, the parts guys at teh dealership claim not ot know what it is, and the mechanic working on the car said it was the problem. All fuses, connections, ect have been checked.
