    problems

ok i have 42lb injectors i installed, and a cam and just got my heads completely ported Gt40s, installed everything into the car, knowing i would need a tune i expected it to run like crap on first start up but it seems worse then it should be. oh and yes it is supercharged with about 8psi. so i go to start it up and it stutters and wont idle, its pouring out smoke( which im guessin from being rich from the injectors, i do have a maf calibrated for 42's being delivered soon) while i go and check to see what the plugs looked like and there carbon fouled guessin from rich mixture as well. what im wondering is if this is normal when doing mods like this to 1995 cobra? i heard the 1994-1995 computers can be a pain in the ass when doing mods. could this be an igntion problem as well? Its like there is a Misfire

What is you fuel pressure set at? Do you have an adjustable regulator? Running a MAF not calibrated for the 42's? Wait for the maf and go get it tuned then it will run fine.

Mine did the same thing when I fired it up, DO you have a AFR gauge? Turn Fuel back alittle if yo uhave adjustable regulator. 35PSI with Vacume. And give the computer a minute or two to learn everything over again. It will clear out eventually. Mine did and I have 60# injectors

is it black smoke or white smoke or??? probably just needs some tuning up. check your ignition timing and probably drop fuel pressure to get it good enough to limp to tuning or till you get a wideband.

Don't run the car anymore until you get the right MAF in.

ya wasnt planning on runnin it until i atleast get the fuel pressure lower and the MAF, also i just did a compression test, my number 6 cylinder was at only 95psi and the rest were around 119psi, i just got the heads done so there flat and i cleaned the block surface real good and used ARP bolts and a new headgasket, so is that a bad compression ring in that cylinder?

Dont run any more or you will wash down the cylinders and toast the rings running it that rich!!!

Wait until you get the right MAF and then run the thing.

After getting the correct MAF, get the thing running and hot, then redo a compression/leakdown test.

It's probably fuel fouled in all cylinders esp. #6(more of a straight shot into the cylinder), wait to get the correct MAF sensor, you're gonna get fuel in the OIL, and that's BAD!!!!!!

ya the oil was drained now and fresh oil put in. there was alittle bit of fuel in the oil, the car was only ran for about a couple of seconds for the intial start up and thats it. the fuel pressure is backed off now and just waiting for MAF

ok so i got the new maf for 42lb injectors, set the fuel pressure at around 38psi, when i go and start it up it doesnt idle, it sounds like its only running on 4 cylinders, now i have never delt with efi w/mods so i dont know what it should run like without a tune, remember it has fully ported iron gt40s, 42lb injectors, TFS 1 cam, Paxton SN2000 seeing 8 psi.

Check engine light come on and stay on while its running?
Have you had it running well after the heads were replaced?
Maybe check the firing order also to make sure plug wires didn't get switched around, and check initial timing.

I would drop the fuel pressure a few psi take the belt off the blower and clear out the flood then check again, keep in mind after running it the first time it is now baddly flooded and washed down, do not change the oil to repetitively that will couse a fuel soak and drie fire condition at the same time. also recheck your base timing and firing orders...

                              definetly get a tune.
