How do you change out the speedo gear?

I have a new speedo gear (red 21) in the mail for my 89' 5.0 5-speed that is going into Hi Performance Art and getting Ford Racing 3.73's this Friday.

How/where do I change that speedo gear? Any links?

I was just looking and they offer a 6T 18 and a 7T 21. I thought I needed the 21 but now I don't know.

i just got 3.73's and did this, just take out the speedo sensor from the tranny and clip the new gear on it, put it back in...

What if you have to change both gears? I have 2.73s now and will be going to 3.73s this summer but I need to change out both gears.

i was going to change both i want from 2.73 to 3.73.s, took the tail housing all apart and everything just to find out that it was exactly the same gear in there as what they send me, so we put it back together and just did the one on the speedo sensor...taking that tail housing apart and putting it back together was a bitch

thats the way mine was, it looked like i drove a 1000hp car the way the speedo was....If i pinned it when it was cold, i went from 0 to 150 and about 9 seconds according to the speedo. After it warmed up though it would be about 15MPH off

so is the red 7t 21 the one i need? what is the 6t 18 for?
