    Hardened oil pump drive shaft?

I need some feedback. Is it worth the time to buy the hardened one, or is the stock one just fine?? I am putting a motor together for my t top and not sure if i should buy a new oil pump and driveshaft, or just buy a oil pump and a hardened shaft, or just reuse both. The motor ran awesome about 3 years ago, and has been sitting on a engine stand since. It will be going in my car, with not alot of mods, but some: long tube headers, underdrive pulleys, 65m tb, a/c and smog delete, adj. fuel pressure regulator, pretty much stock! Let me know what you guys think. Thank you.

    definitely buy a hardened one.

they are cheap insurance, i think they're only 30 bucks or so.

i'd probably also put a new pump in it also, they're cheap too and oil is important.

I went with an ARP shaft and melling pump. For whatever reason, there were clearance issues with the distributor. So maybe don't go with that combo...
