Which roll bar kit to buy?

Which roll bar kit to buy?

I am currently trying to decide between two weld-in roll bar kits. One is from Competition Engineering, and the other from S&W Racecars. They both look nearly identical in design and price, so I am wondering wich one has better fitment. I understand that the tubes in the Competition Engineering kit come slightly long, so you can cut them to fit to your liking. The S&W kit does not mention that.
Also, to anyone that has installed either one of these kits (or both) before; which one has the better fitting main hoop?

My car will be stripped of interior panels rearward of the doors. I don't mind having to trim, notch etc on the straight bars, but I have no means to bend or reshape the main hoop, so that is the imortant item to me.

I think any of the kits need to be fit to finished.

I have a MAXIMUM MOTORSPORTS kit , and if could do it again would go S&W. I have seen 3 of these now and for the money , I think very good.
It is a damn poor mind indeed which can't think of at least two ways to spell any word.

I have the competition engineering one, not a bad choice, it fit pretty good, you just need to cut some bars down to length, and you will need to notch some ends.

How closely does the main hoop follow the b-pillar and roof?

Just ordered the Competition Engineering Kit from Summit. Should be here in a week or so. Hope the install goes at least semi-smoothly.

It just got delivered to my office. Jeezze...it's heavy! 107lbs. on the shipping label. I'm going to have to do some serious weight reduction just to offset the added weight of the roll bar.

It fits pretty darn close, I will try and find some pictures of my car with it in there, I know i have some with the top down when it was getting installed, but I will find some pics with it up.

I went with an S&W cage. I had Paul (Deepstage) install and paint the cage. Cant beat the price and fitment.

From my research, it seemed to be a tossup between the Competition Engineering and S&W roll bar kits. I went with CE simply because Summit had them in stock.

No real progress yet, other than trying to decide where to mount the main hoop.

Got to gettin' on this project this afternoon. The main hoop is fitted pretty much now. I decided to mount it on the inverted U-beam on the floor, with 1/8" reinforcement plates under the main hoop pillars. I'm pretty satisfied with the fitment of the Competition Engineering kit. The width is perfect for mounting it on the U-beam. The top is pretty snug against the roof headliner. (it is standing up via friction fit in the pic.) Should it be that snug, or should I be able to see light all the way around it? I could easily shave off another 1/4" to 3/8" from each post.

Any ideas on paint colors? I am waffling between gloss black, and gloss red. Red would look pretty cool on the door bars that come down in the front half of the car, since it would contrast with the black/grey interior, but would blend in in the back half. Vice versa if I went with black. I suppose I could go with a gunmetal grey or something too....hmmm.
