Beater broke FTL

Shit!!!. My 94 nissan Sentra broke something in the gearbox last night and I can't get my mustang out of the barn because its like a mud pit right now on the way down the driveway to the polebarn.
Here is what happend, I was driving out of my driveway in first gear when I hear a loud bang, thought not to much of it cause it still drove fine untill I went to put it in second and it looked like it was already there, but it was still in first. My 2,4, and reverse all are moved even further back on the shifter then I can get to. So I have only 1st,3rd,and 5th gears at this time. Any Ideas of what caused this or what broke? Thanks for the help

Shift linkage? If so, easy enough of a fix.

I ripped apart the shifter and it doesnt seem to be the linkage, its weird I pushed really hard on the stick towards the front of the car and it sat like normal untill I started to drive, I even backed out in reverse but when I put it in first it moved back again..
