    noise with a 2 or 3 chamber??

Off with the stock, and on with a new "Flowmaster" exhaust, with H pipe, no cats. for a street car.

My question is this. “Two or three chamber mufflers”

Will the two chambers drive me nuts with a drone at 2K, or is it not that bad?

Better to play it safe with the three chambers?

How much performance is there really between the two?

who has done what ,and what do you think??
    I need to order soon!

    Thanks!

i enjoy the 2 chamber flows. yeah, the drone does get a little annoying ~2k rpms, but i just have the stereo loud enough so it doesn't bother me

there is no performance difference between 2 and 3 chamber, just noise difference.

thats as far as my flowmaster knowledge goes.

btw-i have 2 lightly used flowmasters in my garage back home, PM me if youre interested

I think 3 chambers can be compared to stock as far as sound. Although Ive only driven my car 60 miles so far I can say its quiet. I thought it had the stock exhaust until I got a better look under. You'll barely hear the 3 chambers if you have cats

i would just go with 2 chambers. i have them on my car and i love them. with tail pipes they are actually pretty quiet in the car. they are still going to be loud out side. i have pretty much ran every tail pipe setup you can think of for the muffs. imo i like the dumps the best, yes they have some droan, but they arn't that loud in the car, but outside is a different story for loudness.

3 chambers with an off road hpipe are still going to be decently loud. they will probably be a lot quieter in the car, but still have a nice tone on the outside.

if i were you, i would just go with the 2 chambers.
