My dipstick is being a POS because there is no way to secure it to my longtube headers like it was to my factory headers. Have you guys devised a method in which to secure it properly? I was thinking of just tacking it to the header with a welder...but that might cause the dipstick itself to fit improperly in the tube. I'm extremely annoyed by it just hanging there.

Bend a metal coat hanger around it and attach it to one of the valve cover bolts(the one to hold the wire looms).
I just thought of that right now and I might have to try it because I'm having the same problem.
May not be the prettiest thing, but better than having a hanging dipstick.

V Do you have a stock Dipstick?? If so you can twist and bend the tube slightly so that the bracket can be attached to the header bolt just behind the header tube. It makes the dipstick a little harder to put in the tube but its a good trade off. I have done this on all of my Mustangs with long tubes, including my 95 I had.It is a damn poor mind indeed which can't think of at least two ways to spell any word.

We can now actually hook a chain to the dipstick tube to remove the engine. Since SouthernLX has his engine velcro'd into the car, this make for easy engine swaps.Originally posted by SouthernLX View PostExactly, thats what HOR did on mine and it isnt going anywhere.
Don't tell Southern, but I JB welded it in. He will never get it out.

Im pretty good at engine swaps and the velcro is what makes it quick and easy.Originally posted by HARD ON RUBBER View PostWe can now actually hook a chain to the dipstick tube to remove the engine. Since SouthernLX has his engine velcro'd into the car, this make for easy engine swaps.

Yeah...thats the other thing...that bracket broke off somehow (probably someone who was "helping" me). Otherwise I would have done that. Think tacking it to to header would work?Originally posted by LES View PostV Do you have a stock Dipstick??
