    '89 5.0 into '95 5.0 ...

so if I were to say swap engines from my '89 LX 5.0 that only has 30K since rebuilt, into my '95 GT that has tons of miles on her, what do I all need to change?

I heard the '94-95's have a different water pump? I know they have the hypertech pistons, the funny intake, with t.b. too.

So could I do the swap and leave off that '94-95 intake, t.b, mass air, cold air. Then keep the old '89-93 setup?

the 94-95 intake was shorter so it could clear the hood. same intake as my old bird. so with the 87-93 intake, you could have clearance problems.

so if you wanted to do this, i'd say swap over the intake and air tract w/ mass air, etc. should be it, but not 100 percent sure.

I ment by the '87-93 intake manifold for me was my "edelbrock Performer intake" thats currently on my old stang. I've seen that intake on a few '94-95 GTs so I know that will fit, but they all ran that funny elbow to match that stock intake length.

my edelbrock performer clears without the hood pad and I know some people who did the fox TB swap with no clearance issues. You should be good there. I also know the water pump and timing cover are different and the brackets are pushed back for a belt routing closer to the engine. It may be a direct swap for that, but I am not sure of that with the bracketry differences. Keep the accesory bracketry for the 95 and swap the long block with parts and life should be good.

Plus they never wear out.

        I disagree.

Timing chain cover, water pump, alt bracket, a/c power steering bracket is different. Also, I believe on the sn95's they had a spacer on the dampner as well.

Anyways, you can just bolt up the fox stuff. I tried that route. You need to either go sn95 or fox.

Like Don was saying though, there is only so much room in the sn95's so you'll have to make sure and measure.

good info guys!! I'll just swap my short block with intake, then swap the SN95 stuff onto my '89 short block. That sounds to be the better route to go.
